Welcome to Virtually Freestyle
What happens when 14 iconic Doernbecher Freestyle designs come together?
Answer: A special-edition Nike sneaker that helps to save lives.
It all happens virtually on February 25, and you are invited to be a part of it.
The Power of Freestyle:
Reimagined
Since 2003, nearly 100 young designers – all who have faced serious illness or injury – have participated in Doernbecher Freestyle to create internationally renowned Nike footwear and apparel collections that have all been auctioned and sold to benefit one cause: OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the hospital that saved their lives.
Doernbecher Freestyle will look different this year. Until it is safe for us to gather in person once again, we will come together virtually to celebrate and reflect on all of the remarkable young patients who have courageously and creatively shared their personal stories of strength, teamwork and inspiration.
Virtually Freestyle will take place via livestream, and is free of charge. Registration is required.
Over the course of the hour-long online event, everyone in attendance will:
- Hear from alumni Doernbecher Freestyle patient-designers
- Have the opportunity to raise a (virtual) paddle to donate in support of OHSU Doernbecher
- Be among the first to see – and bid on – a limited run, special-edition sneaker that celebrates 17 years of Doernbecher Freestyle.

All for One:
How attending Virtually Freestyle helps OHSU Doernbecher
Just like Doernbecher Freestyle, 100% of the money raised via Virtually Freestyle will benefit OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
To date, the program has generated more than $27 million to help OHSU Doernbecher ensure the health and well-being of children in Oregon, southwest Washington and beyond. Funds raised benefit hospital patients and staff in a variety of different ways – from the delivery of advanced clinical treatment, to emotional support that helps to lift spirits and spread hope.
